Bulgaria plans rebate of up to 30%
Bulgaria plans to compete with its eastern European neighbours by offering a tax rebate of up to 30% for film productions.
The scheme could be approved by the European Union as early as this March, providing an additional incentive for productions from around the world to choose Bulgaria as their base of operations.
Major films including videogame adaptation Hitman, true-life crime thriller The Black Dahlia and paranormal mystery The Fourth Kind have all filmed in Bulgaria in recent years.
