The San Diego Film Commission, which was disbanded in 2013 after its funding was cut by the Tourism Authority is to be replaced by a regional film office under a new initiative by Mayor Kevin Faulconer. 20th Century Fox’s horror-comedy series Scream Queens will relocate production from New Orleans to California, in a bid to obtain the specialised filming incentives that the West Coast state offers for relocating television shows. Scream Queens will now receive up to 25% in transferable tax credits, changing to 20% for any future seasons that continue to film on location in California.
