New Zealand has signed a coproduction agreement with Israel as part of a planned strategy to expand the country’s film industry on an international scale. The agreement was signed by Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister Maggie Barry and Israeli Ambassador Yosef Livne, and will allow for an ease of access to distribution rights and financial incentives available in each respective country.
Film SF Executive Director, Susannah Greason Robbins has secured a deal with the help of Delta Airlines that will provide discounts for both international and domestic flights for productions coming to San Francisco to film on location.
Ukraine is set to install its own system of film incentives after the draft law, “On State Support of Cinematography in Ukraine” was passed by the country’s government on January 28th. The incentive is expected to be a 25% cash rebate that should launch in late April to coincide with the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
