[slideshow id=290]Hobbits have returned to New Zealand. Jared Connon is once again working with Peter Jackson, this time as Supervising Location Manager on the Hobbit films. Connon talks to TLG from Wellington’s Stone Street Studios about New Zealand’s development as a production hub.

He enjoyed it but wanted to get into production and not necessarily in Hollywood. A cousin’s invite to slower-paced Nebraska proved a success and it’s been his home for the past 20 years.
Maggie started in the industry as a researcher finding dog breeders as potential candidates for a Pedigree Chum dog food campaign. She’s been producing for over 25 years, worked at Ted Bates, DDB, BMP, DDBBMP and now Adam & Eve DDB.
Daniel was born and educated in France and in England, and became a Location Manager for a French-Japanese production house in Paris in 1990. He set up Espe Productions in 1995 and produces TV commercials, TV movies and features in France and a few other European countries.
André was born and raised in Toronto and studied arts at university. He has been working in the city’s commercial film world since 1996, working on many national spots as well as serving the international commercial film community interested in shooting in Canada.
Thomas arrived in Florida in 1981 to work as a stage manager and lighting designer for The Alhambra Dinner Theatre. When the theatre was sold he made the leap to film as Location Manager on a CBS movie called The Tony Cimo Story. He’s been in the business ever since.
Javier has a background in architecture and is passionate about art, landscapes and urbanism. He is currently an Executive Producer for Salado Media in charge of the production services department.
