Creative England opens to support the creative industries outside London

Creative England is now open to offer support for the creative industries operating outside London. The new organisational structure replaces the UK Film Council. It will be operating with Caroline Norbury as Chief Executive and has also announced its first seven Board members.

Ed Vaizey is Minister for the Creative Industries: “I commend the dedication and commitment of everyone that has worked so hard to get Creative England up and running, and look forward to working with the agency, particularly on the current film policy review, which is seeking to boost growth and help tackle some of the barriers to the further expansion of the creative industries.”

Different funding schemes will have staggered launches in the next few weeks. The Film Culture Find will open to applications on 17th October and will be directed towards organisations like film festivals, film societies and cinemas.

From November the Talent Development scheme will open. This will offer support for organisations such as those working with talented individuals and those working with established talent, while also working towards an English digital feature film initiative.
