Derek Jacobi likely to return to northern England for Last Tango in Halifax
Renowned actor Derek Jacobi is likely to return to filming locations in West Yorkshire in northern England for a second series of TV drama Last Tango in Halifax. The show tells the story of childhood sweethearts reunited after 60 years apart and has been a hit for the BBC.
Katie Kinsella is responsible for tourism at Calderdale Council and spoke to the Halifax Courier: “The series highlighted beautiful areas of Calderdale and West Yorkshire and it would be great to see more of what Halifax and Calderdale has to offer in the second series.”
Northern England’s profile as an international filming location is on the rise. The BBC has established a base near Manchester and spy thriller Jack Ryan - directed by and co-starring Kenneth Branagh - has been among the recent US studio features filming in Liverpool.
