Estonia launches film commission at Cannes Film Festival
Estonia is launching a new film commission at the Cannes Film Festival. Branded as FilmEstonia.eu, the Tallinn-based organisation will aim to raise the country’s profile as a European filming location, appealing especially to production companies in Europe, Asia and Russia.
Martin Adaamsoo is the commission’s Managing Director: “FilmEstonia.eu will provide location scouting services, offer producers and directors free scouting trips to the country, channel contacts and facilitate what few official procedures there are in place. As a key aim, FilmEstonia.eu is working to kick off local incentive funding from 2013.”
The commission will be separate from the Estonian Film Foundation, which is one of the organisations to have helped found FilmEstonia.eu.
