Europe discusses the future of cinema

The Council of Europe's Film Policy Forum, Shaping Policies for the Cinema of Tomorrow, starts tomorrow in Krakow.

Experts from all areas of the industry, including from a government level, will debate how underlying cinematic principles can still be effective in age of increased globalisation and when new digital technologies are redefining the nature of film production and distribution.

The Forum is being hosted by the Polish Film Institute in association with the Polish Ministry of Culture and the City of Krakow. The Institute has worked with the European Think Tank on Film and Film Policy and with the Council of Europe to finalise a programme that will both celebrate film’s contribution to artistic life, and reflect on ways in which public policies can best address the challenges created by modern cinema.
