Florida filming incentive prioritising conservative content is dropped

A controversial tax credit provision that was being considered for implementation in Florida has been dropped following concerns that films and TV shows featuring gay characters would be penalised, according to the Palm Beach Post.

The provision was being set up to encourage the development of more productions promoting western conservative family values, but equal rights campaigning body Florida Together argued the provision was discriminatory.

It seems the Florida Senate committee agreed and the provision was struck from the bill by the Senate last week.
