    Hi,

As the Vietnam embassy are currently on holiday I wondered if anyone had any advice on if you require journalists VISA’s to film in in Vietnam, if you do, how long does this process take?

    Thanks

    Charlotte

    Hi Charlotte,

    Happy Lunar New Year!

I understand that you come to Vietnam to film a TV show or a feature film.

If yes, according to Vietnam law, you should apply for film permit.

The (fee for) Film permit will cover the (fee for) Visa as well as customs clearance of equipment at the airport. Furthermore, you should know that many nationals (incl 6 European citizens) are now exempt from VISA to get into Vietnam.

In addition to fee for film permit, you will have to pay USD2 for taking picture at the airport (if you do not have photo with you).

To apply for film permit, you should prepare:

    – Shooting schedule (incl shooting locations)
    – Synopsis of the show
    – List of equipment
    – Copy of passport of crew (first page)

It’ll take around 7 days to issue a film permit.

And last but not least, I am glad to assist you with this shooting in Vietnam (incl film permit application) at an affordable cost.

    Hi Charlote,

I think the quickest way to have a journalist visa you can apply at our Embassy in your country.Or you can ask them to give you the contact at the Press office in Hanoi.

Please fill free to contact me if you need more info.

    Thanks,

    Son Nguyen
