  • Hi Peca,
did u think about Bulgaria? Great Art department, great studios and lots of Mexican Desert looking locations.
In case you are interested contact me at mario@themendips.com. Regards. Mario

    hi peca:
i suggest morocco. first of all, you have the rock desert and the sand desert. facilities like hotels and airports are no problem. ouarzazate has the stages and offices. construction is real cheap. horses are no problem because of all the films they did there. equipment is easy to rent. you probably need to fly in cameras and film processing in either rome, paris or london. crews are available and you just need to hire your department heads. extras are mexican looking. costumes to be hired from a costume house in either italy ( all the western shot there) or london.
i’ve done 12 years of films and scouting there. go to imdb and type my name marco giacalone. email me directly if you need more info

    best regards

Hello from Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA! We are fortunate to live in an area that is a “high desert;” you get the desert look without the extreme heat. See the following pics for a decent representation of our “desert.” There is plenty of land available on Albuquerque’s west side to build a Western town/set. We are the largest city in New Mexico and have all the amenities associated with a big city (including Albuquerque Studios – the largest independently run studios in North America!). New Mexico also has some of the best film incentives in the country. Please contact Ann Lerner (alerner@cabq.gov) if you would like to discuss further. Thanks!

    Hi Peca
We are Marmelade Film, production house based in Kiev, Ukraine. We have great experience in serving different projects and may provide you with professional equipmet, production base and staff. According to your request we recommend to have a look at the location “White Rock” which is in Crimea. White Rock is very popular with cinematographers, this place reminds on American “Wild West” much. Many russian westerns were shot there, the most well-known are “Chelovek s bulvara Kaputsinov”, “The Headless Rider”, “Mustang-Inohodets”. So the western village has been already built and we may organize shooting there and do all the necessary preparations. As for the landscapes and mountains – they look really impressive.
Besides, the location is only 50 km from Simferopol, Crimea’s capital, so accomodation could be easily done from there.
Have a look at some pics and feel free to ask for more information. We’d like to send you more pics of this place.
    Will wait for you reply,
    Warm regards,

    Marmelade Film

    Peca,

We are a Spanish Production company headquartered in Madrid with offices in Barcelona, Marbella and Alicante (Valencia) Spain. We are a partner company with Ciudad de la Luz Estudios Feature Film Division, http://www.ciudaddelaluzestudios.com

Ciudad de la Luz Estudios is the newest and grandest studio in all of Europe and one of the benefits that the Government Community of Valencia offers is a certain rebate for any film shot in their region.

Please feel free to take a look at the Studios website to learn a little more and also please feel free to visit our company website as well, http://www.teamworkspain.com

There are two areas in Spain that have the locations you are looking for and we would be more than happy to send them but we prefer a repsonse from your side before we do so.

You can reach me at akeech@teamworkspain.com

Thank you and all the best,

    Andrew Keech
