I need a production fixer and advice for a car brand shoot we have happening in Chengdu and wondered if you could please help me?

Its not a big tv commercial, the final piece will be used for online content.

We need to shoot for 2/3hours on 1 x night to create a 10 seconds timelapse film.

I need a fixer to tell me what filming permissions we need to drive around and film (camera mount photo attached) famnous Chengdu landmarks (attached landmark list) in the space of 2/3 hours in one x night.

It would be organising a car, an english speaking driver and organising filming permits prior to the director’s arrival.

The dates we’re looking at are 8-10th April – The director will stay in the city for 2 night but we will only need to film one of these nights.

There’s no crew and the director will be bringing his own equipment (again refer to photo attached to see what the equipment looks like). The camera is mounted to the outside of a car.

Note this is not a journalist, news piece or current affairs – it’s commercial.

Please contact me on lauren.havard@akqa.com with information about permits – if we need them, how long the take.

I have more information about the brand and project that I will pass on further down the line.

    Thanks,
    Lauren

Lauren, Happy to help: Gingerfilms has a producer for Chengdu and Chongqing and an English/Chinese Speaking driver/producer we can bring in。 We can handle local permits for the area and if needed arrange police assistance in Chengdu。Further we have shot in Chengdu and neighboring Yunnan and Chongqing provinces fairly recently。
We can also help you with those pesky entry visas and meet your director at the airport with all scouting and arrangements complete。
China’s annual Qingming festival is coming up on April 5th with some people taking off the entire week prior to your shoot so you may have even less time to prepare than you think。 If confirmed quickly then your dates for shooting are still okay。

I don‘t see the landmark list attached but I can help you to isolate what is viewable from the highways and roads such as Jiu Yan Qiao (nine eyes bridge), the nightlife area next to it, Qintai road with it’s traditional buildings outlined in lights or the large Mao statue in Tainfu Square.
