It is 160 meters below see level. It has about 40 km flat land of salt on one part, bibling sulfer and potassium hills on other side and one of active volcano on earth on the other sude. It has also salty water lakes. It is inhabited by the nomads of Afar tribe.

This location can be reached from 2 directions from the capital city Addis ababa. 1/ 1 hour flight and 3 hours drive 2/ 2 days drive.
