    Hi Leslie

Namibia is a good option for deserts, or South Africa, depending on exactly what you are after in the way of expansive – on the ground or aerials. Here are some examples in Namibia.

    Hi Leslie!

Believe it or not, right here in the Dominican Republic we have a vast desert location. The best thing about it is its easily accessible and our local Mayor, Chaco Landestoy is part of the CityHall Film Group and therefore your project probably qualifies for our production incentives. I am compiling a few pictures for you now but if you are interested in letting us know more about your project please contact us at filmadvisor@cityhallfilm.org

Thanks and have a great day!!

    Hi Leslie

I think a very good option would be the Atacama Dessert in the northern Chile near San Pedro where the people are very friendly and efficient.
If you are interested let me know.

    Dear Leslie,

If you want to stay in Europe and have 1st class facilities, crew and services, good weather and one of the widest varieties on desert, please consider ALMERIA. We have shot numerous commercials and feature films in Almeria doubling for the Jordan desert, Afghanistan, etc (all stone desert type, not sand dune desert). Maybe the best example is to have a look at “Gospel of John” with Henry Ian Cusick, which we entirely shot there. There are several vast desert areas there which are private and easy and economic to handle permitwise (for reference remember “Indiana Jones and the last Crusade”, the final show down with the tanks and everything, that was ALMERIA). If you are interested, please do not hesitate contacting me under +34 609 50 87 88 or peter@frescofilm.com, as we would be pleased to help you on your project, provide you with reference pictures and whatever info you might need. In the meantime, please check our credits on http://www.frescofilm.com.

    All the best

    Dear Leslie,

In Spain you will have the security and accesibility of a modern European country. There is Almeria and a few other locations in Spain that are not as well known. Prices are very reasonable and have come down lately.

Don’t hesitate to give us a call at FotoFilmVideo SL, based in Andalusia:
