Filming in Norfolk, England – location directories, finders?

Hi there,

Along with my production team, we spend an awful lot of time shooting in and around Norfolk.

We have several decent sized productions we’re planning for 2014 (and beyond) and would love to know of any companies that cover Norfolk based filming locations, as well as any location finders that know the area well.

It’s a part of the country that’s not particularly well serviced when it comes to potential locations (yet it offers a lot!), and I’ve found many of the bigger directories don’t appear to offer many properties.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Ben,

You are right there are great locations but many of them are hidden! However, a couple of ideas: have you tried Creative England? They have a couple of designated people for the Easter region- www. Creativeengland. co. uk. They also have a locations and crew database I think.

Norwich and Suffolk councils I think have pages on their. Main sites
That deal with filming applications.

Also, Suffolk has just created its own film organisation. The guy who runs it is called Julien Mery: tel- 07716. 803081. He might be able to point you in the right direction.

Finally there used be a locations agency/ manager – Film East. Try googling and his details will appear. He might also be able to help.

I know Norfolk really well and have scouted in most of the N Norfolk coast plus represent private homes around Norfolk and have lots of contacts there – my family come from Norfolk
I lived in Burnham Market and my family lived in Holkham and Holt
