Hi Everyone! It seems I have come here because I can’t find a suitable location with my own knowledge. I am looking for a shooting location along the coast of California that has large grassy cliffs and can be accessible by me and my lone actor. Basically I need a grassy coastal plateau. I live in Huntington Beach and am willing to drive as far as San Francisco, but the shorter the drive, the better. I have found some locations that may be suitable but I am not sure if they can be accessed. I have attached some examples, any replies/help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!

First one is Sonoma Coast State Beach/Park
Second one is Point Reyes National Seashore
Third is Big Sur Coastline (like the grassy flatland to the right of the picture)

I have several in the Big Sur area and points north, including the one shown in your examples. Please feel free to contact me to discuss.

The city of Ventura does not have a grassy bluff, however, our neighboring county does.

The link is for the Carpenteria Bluffs about 15 miles north of Ventura. Contact info is on the website.

Included in this packet are photos of the Sonoma County Coast. We are located about 50 miles north of San Francisco.

The cliffside look especially on the right side is definitely in Big Sur. It’s the Brazil Ranch, owned by the US Forest Service and represented by adjoining property owner Susie Moon and her husband John — 831-625-2096.

Another nice cliff side field (not super tall) is the Grimes Ranch, about 10 minutes north, owned by Greg Vita — 831-624-8368.

Another private ranch is the Hill of the Hawk…a bit further south near Ventana Inn….with a high vista over the ocean.

A coupe of local scouts are quite familiar with these properties and are listed under Location Scout, Location Manager in our resources guide section of our website:
    http://www.FilmMonterey.org

Most familiar are Peter Newfield, Jere Newton, Alan Vasquez. Jim Baldwin from SF also has contacts there.

What is your deadline? I am out of the office until Monday….you can likely find some images on our website. Or via the scouts mentioned.

My cell is 831-594-9410 if you want to reach me, and I will occasionally be checking emails, too.

Please let me know if I can assist further right away.

I think there would be some beautiful locations here in San Mateo County to meet the producer’s needs! We have beautiful beaches all along the coast. Below is a list of beaches along the coast. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.
