    Hi,

There is a BBC crew looking to film in Southern Spain soon. They have hired a Bell ranger helicopter for filming but they have heard that the use of Tyler/side mounts on Bell, long or Jet ranger Helicopters in Spain is no longer legal. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions. Many thanks. Anne-Marie

This isn’t strictly true. If the mounts have approval from EASA or a European Aviation authority such as the CAA in the UK, then it is possible to use these mounts. What we can’t use in Europe now are the American FAA ‘STC’. This applies to all mounts attached to European aircraft.
