  • hi laura
I think you should be looking at Chile or Argentina in the south of both counties. there are places that don’t have too many mountains in the background remember it is their summer, so you cast won’t freeze to death

Thanks Chris, it feels good to hear that many more people see this necessity. In fact, our Andalusian Film Professional’s association has a meeting today with the new person in charge of the Malaga Film Office and we will bring this up again, that is for sure. Again, from PROINCINE Spain apologies to all those that have come across our Film Commissions / Offices in this forum and felt bothered. If you need real advice, please stick to the service companies listed on the location guide or ask for help at any of the producers’ associations (like http://www.proincine.com).
    Cheers,

    Peter

    Hi Laura
You should perhaps consider Scotland, we have many lakes (lochs)and you can see some of them here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lakes_in_Scotland
We have lakes with mountainous scenery, and lakes with no mountains. Some have beaches, some have forests around them. Our lakes are not frozen in January, although the weather can be very cold.
Best wishes, Cindy (Location Manager, Edinburgh, Scotland)

Hi Laura, there are many beautiful lakes in New Zealand – some of which resemble Lithuania. January is mid summer in New Zealand. Please contact william@bigpictures.co.nz or http://www.bigpictures.co.nz Thanks,

    Hi Laura

Here are a few ideas from New Zealand that I felt were relevant to your reference. We have hundreds more on file so let me know if you wish to look further.

We are just arriving in our Summer season so it is a wonderful time to consider NZ.

    Hi Laura,

I would request you to have a look at the lake at Kodaikkanal that matches with your requirement. You can visit my page at linkedin http://www.linked.in/in/venum05 to know more about me. I am attaching some of the pictures of the lake and in January though there will be fog during early morning the lake will look more beautiful with the greeneries around.

I am giving a brief description about the lake: : “The Kodaikanal Lake is a central point of the town of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, India. In 1860s, Vera Levinge, a former District Collector of Madurai, settled in Kodaikanal after his retirement. With his own money, he converted the marshy land into a lake.
It is a star-shaped body of water, surrounded by lush slopes. The hills receive rainfall during North-East Monsoon months of October, November and December. The lake is spread over 60 acres and surrounded by a pretty road about 5 kms. long. The surrounding woods have a variety of tree species including pine and eucalyptus.”

    Hello Laura.

Chile happens to have a beautiful region of lakes.
Our south is world wide known for the fantastic landscapes that offers, mostly lakes surrounded by deep forests and volcanoes.
I would be happy to send you more specific information if you are still looking for the magic spot.
As follows a very small sample of what you can get.

    Hope to hear from you!
