Location for reality show – Africa

Hi Mike

I am writing from Rocket Films Africa (http://www.rocketfilmsafrica.com).

We facilitated a reality show in 2010 for RSA Films, USA for Budweiser. It was based on the World Cup (32 contestants, 1 from each country participating in the World Cup). The show was ground-breaking as it was the largest of its kind to date and we did all the editing on site which was published to the internet within 24 hours. The show lasted a month and has given us great knowledge and experience in what is required to produce a great show.

We found a great location with sea views, heated swimming pool and privacy (which was an important factor for our clients).

Hi Miko

We are in Cape Town and have serviced many commercials and a few features too. I have personally directed commercials and produced, directed and written television series; drama sitcom and reality. We’ve used similar locations to the one you are looking for and can do it again. In fact, we are currently prepping a feature co-pro which also requires a large villa for a long period. Weather in Cape Town not great for the next few months, so either we can go to an alternative South African city further north (like Durban), or preferably the shoot doesn’t begin before November.
Attached are a few references of the sort of place we could look for just as a small taste. It will need to have the right combination of size, ocean views, practicalities, availability, and style specifications. We’ll find the right place.
