Hi Pat,
Here’s a bit of rundown…
Tree/Bush fruits WA in Autumn – Apples (Green, Gold, & Red) Pears, Quinces, Figs, Kiwifruit… everything else is pretty much out of season.
Vineyards could make a great alternative – still in season.
For something completely different there’s the City of Perth Orchard Garden set against the backdrop of the city which is an interesting look.
Note. You’d also becoming on the back of a hot dry summer and while the orchards will be lush and green the surrounding countryside may not be.
There are not really any orchards within 20km of the CBD so you’ll have to consider travel time, and the nicer ones are further out in the Chittering Valley, Roleystone etc (35-50km)
The best are 180km away in the South West, Donnybrook and Balingup etc.
If you want gold – Ord Valley in the Kimberley is ablaze with variety and colour as it’s the end of the Wet Season…
Anyway – my tips and happy discuss further if you’re interested.
cheers
