Palau Moxó Barcelona, 1770. Architectural Heritage.
The Palau Moxó is a building of late baroque style, with classic influence, that is located in time between the Gothic Barcelona Cathedral and Gaudi Modernism.
It is the only private 18th Century Palace in Barcelona that maintains its original furniture and interiors. It is unique in its genre since most of Barcelona’s palatial residences of the period were destroyed during the Spanish Civil War.
It was built under the direction of Mr Francisco Mestres, Master Builder of Barcelona Cathedral. Since its construction it has belonged to the same family, the Moxó family.
