  • Hi Ted,

Drive to skifields are an option, but you can check out the latest conditions here on the webcams.

    http://www.snow.co.nz/mthutt/snowreport/

This is the closest to Christchurch and as you can see we are still someway off getting decent cover. The Queenstown fields are still some way off being ready as well and look worse than this. These days the best conditions are usually mid July till end of August for skifields if you want decent snow cover.

At the moment the weather still feels quite mild and I don’t see too much changing between now and early June unless we get a radical change with the weather pattern.

So your best bet for New Zealand is to be looking at the highest mountains for a location.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind Regards

    Rob

    Hi Tom,

Ski season starts in New South Wales, Australia on June 10th and there is snow forecast for this week, in fact. There will be snow on top accessible via the Thredbo lifts.

Please contact us directly and we will put you in touch with Thredbo management.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Ted
In Northern Norway we still have snow left in beginning of June, in addition we have daylight 24 hours a day that gives a lot of interesting light. Here you will find experienced crew and a good infrastructure.
We are located 1 1/2 hour flight north of Oslo.

Have a look at our location database: http://www.filmcamp.no/Location_database/default.aspx?L=E

    Hi Ted
Although the snow season usually starts a little later, right now is snowing in Tierra del Fuego (the very south of argentinean Patagonia). Let me know with more detail what kind of landscape you’re looking for to advise you properly.

    best regards

    Hi Ted,
Please consider the South Island of New Zealand as a location for your up coming tvc project.
Winter here in NZ is underway with the first commercial ski area ( Queenstown’s Coronet Peak ) expected to open on the 8th June.
The Southern Alps of New Zealand’s South Island offer may alpine locations that may suit your purpose.
Please feel free to contact us with further detail as we’d be happy to assist you with Location Scouting and Full Line Production Services.

    Hi Ted,

I believe you should look into shooting in Norway.
We have 2 summer ski resorts that are currently open and usually stay open until mid/late July. Both are located in western Norway. Snow conditions are really good this year due to a long and cold winter.

Please feel free to contact me if you want to know more about these possibilities and I will be happy to assist you. I can offer cost effective scouting and full service production if needed.
