  • Looking for somewhere in moutains that will still have snow at tree line first week of may & has a train tracks within the snow covered area (ideally not in use any more & with a tunnel but as I”m already asking a lot this is optional).

    Hi Shirley,

Norway might be an option for you; “Raumabanen” and possibly “Flåmsbanen”. They are both set in spectacular landscapes. However, snow at the tree line first week of may is stretching it a bit… I can check current conditions when I’m back in office after Easter, there will anyhow be snow-capped mountains throughout entire May.

    Hi There,

You could shoot on either the Rocky Mountaineer or Via Rail that runs through the Rocky Mountains. There will be snow in May in the Jasper/Banff areas.

    Please email Heinrich: heinrich@meansofproduction.ca

    Hello Shirley,

between northern Italy and Switzerland there are trains that travel through high mountain landscapes and in the first week of May we can definitely find snow. Not sure we can find it at tree level but with some luck we could still be able to find some. Definitely we can find some without trees and definitely if there are trees we will find’em! Contact us with more details and we can check what we can do. Paolo@shootinthealps.com

Here in Sweden we have snow up until June in the mountains around Riksgränsen. 300km north of the polar circle. Its North of Alaska, North of Canada, North of Iceland,North of everything. And there is a train line going straight through the area. Good hotels, International airport, local crews. And sunshine all day

We have one of the most scenic vintage railroads in the world right here in southwestern Colorado. I’ve attached a YouTube clip of a winter excursion into Cascade Canyon. The train will be making this trip during the first week of May this year. The schedule is not dependent on other train traffic or delivery contracts. Pleas feel free to contact me for more information. Thank you for your consideration.
