  • We do have some wheat fields here in Brazil in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina being harvested at this time. I’m not sure you still find them in December or January, they harvest before the summer rains arrive.

In Brazil we have only few and smalls plantations of hop in the state of Santa Catarina. I don’t know them.

    Sorry about my english.

    Best regards.

    Hello Alex,
Chile is plenty of wheat field spots that you can find at this very time. We are currently at mid-season and begining of harvest, and you’ll be able to find wheat fields until late february, and in some cases to late may.
Chile as you may know, holds international standars in film production and top-rated and skilled industry professionals.
Please, contact me if you need further info about Chilean Locations. Feel free to go our website to know more: http://www.trulalafilms.com

    Hello,

I work in Bossa Nova Films with Marcelo. In Brazil we do have wheat filed, however the harvest is in August/September and they plant in March/April. So unfortunately we won’t have any wheat field to shoot in December/January.

Regarding hop in Brazil, because of our climatic conditions we do not plant it.

If you need any other information do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best,
    Rossana Noceloni

    Hello Alex,

In December you can find great wheat fields in Uruguay, where is very cost-effective to shoot and you find fields close to the city of Montevideo.

December & January are also good months to shoot wheat in Chile, where you can still find fields relatively close to Santiago, making it easier and cheaper to shoot.

Seasons vary and so do the best fields to shoot.

    Hi Alex,

We have an extensive Wheat belt in the state of NSW, which stretches from Queensland down to Victoria through the towns of Moree, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Deniliquin.

I have just received some information from one of our District Agronomists about the current wheat harvesting situation:

“Wheat fields can be found anywhere west of the Blue Mountains on the slopes and plains at present. Harvest has started in northern NSW and will stretch into December in the south. The current heavy rain has caused a lot of damage to crops especially in the north and central west. The extended wet in the south this week will delay harvest and may also damage crops but it’s probably your best bet for filming. You’ll need to get there in December rather than January if you want to catch them before harvest.
Paddocks get bigger and flatter once you move west from the slopes (say Wagga Wagga) to Goolgowi (West of Griffith).”

Please feel free to contact me for any further information on locations in NSW and I will be more than happy to email you an extensive location package.

    All the best,
    Mariangela

    Hi Alex!

You have a few options for filming wheat fields, and this also depends on if you want to film yellow or green wheat. Based on our research, wheat is more commonly found here in the winter (months of may-september). I know this may not help your particular production at this time, but for future reference it might be good information to have, especially if the need were to ever arise to film wheat in Brazil in these months.

In the region of Minas Gerais (Uberlandia) you have green wheat at the end of April through May and yellow wheat in June and July.

In the regions of Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná you will have green wheat in July and August and Yellow wheat in September and November.

Unfortunately the time period of December and January is not ideal for shooting wheat in Brazil, but who knows, keep us in mind for the future!

    Hope this helps a little!

    Best Regards

I am attaching you some shots for a location we shot last year midd January.
These spot is 1hour from Santiago, so you can always have Santiago as home base.
