    Dear Charlie,

I emailed you some ideas re. your production plans in Uzbekistan, the territory I visited dozens of times with NatGeo, Discovery, Time-Life photographers etc. and also individually to co-author books and stories published in USA and Italy.

I have a very tender spot for Uzbekistan, many good contacts and friends.

We shall provide you with A to Z creative production support with the best English-speaking professional crew, very spectacular episodes and lovely stories with charismatic faces & guest-speakers.

Best regards, Eugene Zykov Russian Film Commission — Film-Media ez@russianfilm.biz http://www.russianfilm.biz

    Dear Charlie,

I emailed you some ideas re. your production plans in Siberia based on my 30-year-long experience behind the shoulders. I worked with many int’l crews incl. NatGeo, Discovery, Time-Life photographers etc. as a fixer or PM of 2nd Production Units and also traveled there as a free-lance journalist to co-author books published in USA and Italy.

I have lots of good contacts or friends in this vast territory you will have a strong film-friendly reliable and very creative support incl. local administrative backing and absolutely no red-tape hindrance.

Also one of my Moscow-based friend is a ex-test pilot who visits his family now and then
driving from Moscow to the Southern Siberia and he knows all the roads there by heart.

    Dear Alzbeta,

I have emailed you directly some of my ideas and attached a dozen of photos of spectacular subtropical locations in Southern Russia.

It is only 6,5 hour-flight from Prague and you’ll find there even more than you need, in addition to the beach in the warmest part of the Black Sea, big yachts, plush beautiful houses of local film-friendly VIPs, waterfalls in the mountains, guest-friendly villages, palms and southern architecture along the seashore and in the cities.

The ideal climate is in September: lots of sunshine, not too hot, plenty of local food & wine.

I had a few productions there and now have excellent contacts with film-friendly local administration. You’ll find some more Pros in my detailed email and still more when we discuss it with you. Hi Anna,
Baths are my hobby: I am a health maniac and attend baths all my life long: in Moscow – public baths weekly and sometimes private baths. Plus whenever possible I enjoy baths in Germany, during Berlinale, in Belarus, Turkey and Hungary. Ideal cost-effective location is Minsk, capital of Belarus (770 Km from Krakow and my local rep may offer you a few public baths in Minsk). I may also offer you 5-6 public baths in Moscow (approx. 1400 Km from Krakow). You’ll find a good background about baths in Moscow in A Day In The Life Of The Soviet Union (USA), my first fixer’s highlight of a grand photo album (pages 172-177 and my photo on page 228 and text on page 230). Hi Imogen, meanwhile I have got some good news from Central Asia for you and I look forward to hearing from you. Dear Imogen Walford, I suggest we discuss your history documentary in details to help you to coordinate it both creatively and cost-effectively. Since you mention different ex-USSR republics of the Central Asia, which are now different states with different laws, rules and traditions, we could handle this much easier at the pre-prod period through my direct contacts with my partners from Confederation of Film-Makers Union, a prominent and well-respected public organization. This Union is actively operating in these countries as well and it has united many talented film-makers, some of them live or visit Moscow now and then to attend film festivals / other events. So we always keep in touch. I look forward to hearing from you. Dear Sandy, During our correspondence I’ve sent you photos of 8 old enough stadiums from Russia to shoot the hockey matches in the season you prefer. Most of them are close to Moscow and some minor modernized things could be easily removed either manually or with CGI. Here’s some of them to remind you. I also got some support from the Hockey Federation. ALSO – FYI: Now that sanctions have weakened Russian Ruble twice vs. US Dollar & even more vs. Euro, you can shoot your film for half price. Just think of it… Best, Eugene Zykov, Russian Film Commission — Film Media (Moscow) ez@russianfilm.biz http://www.russianfilm.biz Cell: (+7905) 545 34 14 -also via Facetime/Viber/Whatsup Skype: ezykov

    Hi Andrew,

I suggest Southern Russia: similar landscape, dramatic colors in the fall, lots of sunshine
and, most importantly, (1) due to sanctions and currency crisis which lowered Rouble vs. soaring Pound you will save 50-70 per cent of you budget (2) Russians have a similar sense of humour and highly creative with well understood anecdotes comparable to British jokes.
I have excellent contacts with local administration who would be interested to render administrative support as well as long as their locations become famous thanks to Sky.
Pls find attached only 4 photos and let me know of your email, so that I provide you with a few dozens of more photos. Best, Eugene Zykov President & Founder of Russian Film Commission — Film-Media Cell: +7 (905) 545 34 14 (also via Facetime/Viber/Whatsup)

    Hi Jessica,

In case if you start production a few weeks/a month later you’ll find the best green spring forests – from Moscow parks with elks and squirrels or outskirts of Moscow to the Russian European territory. (see the photos below and in my separate mail to you).

    Hi, Jasen,

I suggest the grand palace locations with magnificent ballroom hall and marble sculptures,
which belonged to aristocratic family in St-Petersburg, Russia (see photos below) and some more emailed separately to you. I shot a film there, the new owner is quite film-friendly,
IMPORTANTLY, due to currency crisis and sanctions we may keep the budget 2,5 times less expensive than in Europe. Best, Eugene Zykov / Russian Film Commission — Film-Media ez@russianfilm.biz +7 905 545 34 14 http://www.russianfilm.biz
