    According to your request, in the south of Chile you can find a city named Valdivia. As you can check the pics, the city has a river named “Calle Calle”. Besides the summer in Chile runs from December to March, so you can have over 14 hours of daylight.     Chile´s winter starts at the end of June. The Los Andes Mountains offers you a lot of snow locations such Portillo Ski Resort, Valle Nevado, La Parva and El Colorado, Lagunillas -all these locations less than 2 hours from Santiago´s International Airport.
    Also the south of Chile have dozens of Snow spots depending on what you want to produce.

    Regarding to your request, to shoot on the exterior of a cargo ship in Valparaiso you´ll need different permits.
    One of them will be from the Company that manages the concession of the Port. Other permit must be provided from ADUANA (Customs) and another permit must be asked from the Company who is renting the Cargo Ship.     On behalf of Film Commission Chile we can tell you that near Santiago (Around Two Hours) you can find different mountains locations: Some of them are Portillo Ski Resort, Glaciar La Paloma, Valle Nevado, Glaciar San Francisco (Cajón del Maipo), and some others.

    Winter season starts in June so it´s easy to find snow locations in July and Agoust.

    According to your request of location and Production Manager we can help you contacting different professionals depending on what kind of project are you working on.

    Regarding to shooting permits, it will depends on where exactly you want to shoot, (Some counties charge different amounts, CONAF (National Forest Corporation) also regulate permits, so please contact us so we can send you the exact information.

    Chile in South America has a lot of spots were you can find snow. Our winter runs from June to September but there are location were you will find snow the whole year, as the Los Andes mountains.

    I’m writing you from the Chile Film Commission. If you have the ATA Carnet, then you won´t have any problems bringing temporarly equipments. Anyways, in Santiago there are many rents companies with the most modern equipments, cameras and gears. If you want to contact them, don´t hesitate to ask me for further information.

    As you can check below, Chile has wonderful snow hills during October. There are Ski Resorts near Santiago (less than 45 minutes ride) and also other Ski resorts in the south of Chile where you will find more snow on October.

    The North of Chile has the driest desert in the World. We can guarantee no rain on october and also beaches with white sand. The ESO (European Southern Observatory) has large observatories in Chile because it has the clearest sky in the world.
