    hello Lucy, how are You?
    I would like to suggest Kvarner area with city of Rijeka. International airport is on Isle Krk (30 min),Pula (1:15h) and Zagreb (2h).
    You will find mountains, coastline, lakes….

    Another region is Istria, just ‘next door’ to Kvarner. great landscapes and all. international airport is in Pula, but Venice and Trieste airport are not too far either.

    Third region would be Zadar and island of Pag. Zadar has it’s own international airport.
    in the background you have mountain Velebit, isle of Pag landscapes which are so different: from moon surface type to typical mediterranean.
