    Hello!

Am happy to help! Colombo Films is the top production company in Colombia. We can provide services throughout South America. Our sister company is FoxTelecolombia, and we have assisted in producing large television shows for the US, including Mental and Burn Notice.

Last year we also bought the rights of the Dutch format- Dating in the Dark- and produced it with great success for the Latin American market.

Colombo Films is also the only production company in Colombia to be represented by the GLOBAL PRODUCTION NETWORK (globalproductionnetwork.com), insuring quality and experience when working global producers.

We are also the only production company in Colombia to have had our film, 1989 (in English, starring American actor Vincent Gallo), in the Official Selection and closing film in La Semaine de la Critique in the Cannes Film Festival, 2009.

If you require any further information, we are more than happy to help. Please do not hesitate to contact me!

Sending you my best from Bogota,

    Hello!

Have you put any thought into Chile? There is ample snow through September in locations not far from the capital- Santiago.

    Hi Gideon,

In Colombia we can manage this for you if still necessary. There are many different types of Highways here, but attached please find two we recently worked on and had closed off for the day with no problem.

    in reply to: Apple trees

    Hello Pavel,

Do not know if you are still looking for ripe Apple orchards, but in Colombia we have no seasons and have farms and farms of apple trees that are available for production.

The filming incentives are vast, and price of production is much more attractive that most European countries, including South Africa and Argentina.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Virginia Cooney

    — One more note about Colombia, there are no seasons, so these flowers are always there….

    Cheers!

    Hi Maria,

Attached please find a foto of a field that I think would just be perfect!

It is located in Boyaca- very close to Bogota, Colombia. Colombia is swiftly becoming an ideal location for production based on its wealth and diversity of locations, booming film infrastructure and extremely attractive pricepoint.

Please let us know if we can help you in any way, and even create a working budget for your project so that you can get a better idea of the numbers!

    Hi Waldo,

Have you thought of Colombia or anywhere in South America? Colombo Films can provide all of your and your client’s needs in finding the most spectacular views from jungles, to deserts, to breaktaking seas or the andes mountains.

there is also a place in Colombia called the Sierra Nevada, a snow capped mountain that juts directly out of the sea. It is surrounded by the northern deserts in La Guajira, the sea is aquamarine, and the mountain is lush green until you reach the snowy summit. It is considered the most holy place according to local tribes, and is really a spectacular site!

I am searching for the best photo of Sierra Nevada now so you can have a better idea.

Attached is a photo of the Bambuco desert here in Colombia, and the one of the Caño Cristales– a river whose bed is composed of vibrantly colored crystals. Another wonder of the world! The last photo is a serene setting amidst beautiful mountain peaks.

in reply to: Looking for Location to Shoot

    Hi Ellen,

I run the production services branch of Colombia’s top production house, Colombo Films. After reading your post, I immediately thought of a private residence near the town of Villa de Leyva in Colombia’s desert plateau. The colors are red earth, sand and various forms of succulents and cacti. As you walk through the property, there is no outward appearance of a house. You approach a slightly cleared section between a few large plants and press a metallic button camouflaged in the ground. A hatch hidden in the earth opens revealing a staircase, that winds down 3 flights underground. It is about 3 rooms in total- all walls are the same color as the red earth, but the entire long side of the house is glass, opening to a steep, rugged cliff.

It is remote, loads of hidden gadgets. Very retro feel, but with a contemporary ease. Unfortunately it will take me some time to get some photos as I am on location away from my hard drive. Please let me know if you are interested.
