Greater Fort Lauderdale in Florida launches local filming incentive
Greater Fort Lauderdale, just north of Miami in Florida, has launched a new local filming incentive shortly after being visited by Marvel for Iron Man 3. The city will offer a cash rebate of up to USD150,000 per project for qualifying film and TV productions.
Noelle Stevenson is Film Commissioner at the Broward Office of Film & Entertainment, which encompasses Fort Lauderdale: “You can film pretty much anything in the destination and make it look like you have travelled all over the world - from beaches to swamps, western towns to art deco cities, ranches to industry and sports complexes to art galleries.”

More than 800 films and TV shows have filmed in Greater Fort Lauderdale over the past two years, according to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, with Iron Man 3 being among the highest-profile earlier in 2012. The local rebate can be combined with Florida’s state filming incentive of up to 30%, capped at USD8 million per project.
