Henry de Czar films accident-prone skier on location in Austria for AXA

Paris-based production company Henry de Czar has filmed a new insurance spot in Austria. The French AXA insurance piece shows a skier calling the company a little late - in the midst of a dramatic tumble down a slope - to see what his coverage options are.

Two glaciers at 3,500 metres above sea level were the preferred locations in Austria – despite being tougher shooting conditions - but the relevant permits weren’t granted.

Markus Viehauser was Location Manager for Picspusher: “The spot was filmed in Obertauern, near my hometown Salzburg. Although not a glacier, it’s a ski resort with excellent snow conditions (usually one of the first resorts with snow and it stays until the end of April). Obertauern is very film-friendly.”

Wide shots of the skier’s tumble were filmed using wires and then the actor was put into a separate rig for his close-ups.

Viehauser adds: “The shoot went extremely well thanks to sunshine (we all got sunburn) and the big help from the lift company who prepared the slope and snow platform for the shoot.”
