Honorary Awards recipients revealed for the LMGI Awards 2017

The honourees for this year’s Location Managers Guild International Awards have been announced – among whom are acclaimed filmmaker Danny Boyle and Location Scout Lori Balton. The news follows the initial reveal of this year’s list of nominees.

Danny Boyle, whose recent project, T2: Trainspotting, was shot almost entirely in Edinburgh over a three month period, will receive the Eva Monley Award.

Danny Boyle, LMGI, Awards, Los Angeles, California, Locations, Film, Filming, Industry, Production, NewsLMGI Vice President, JJ Levine states: “Danny Boyle is the ideal candidate for this award. Boyle utilises locations to embrace the essence of his characters and to capture moments in time, from both an emotional and cultural perspective.”

Lori Balton will receive the Trailblazer Award for her outstanding work on such productions as The Young Pope and Downsizing, the latter of which was one of the first international productions to access Norway’s cash rebate film incentive.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Location Professional Stuart Raven Barter, whose 30+ year career spans work on music videos, commercials and feature films.

The LMGI Awards 2017 ceremony will take place April 8th at the Steven J. Ross Theatre at Warner Bros. Studios.
