Julia Roberts feature qualifies for filming incentives in Oklahoma

Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are among the big-name stars heading to Oklahoma in autumn 2012 for dark comedy August: Osage County. The production has qualified for the Oklahoma Film & Music Office’s Film Enhancement Rebate Program.

Deby Snodgrass is Executive Director of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department: “Due to the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program the state’s film industry has experienced documented growth which translates into a positive economic impact.”

Oklahoma is in the central US and offers a production cash rebate of up to 37%. Filming for August: Osage County is scheduled for eight weeks in Osage and Washington counties in the north-east of the state. Filmmaker Terrence Malick was another recent visitor with his upcoming feature To the Wonder.
