Karpinski joins EFP's board of directors
Maciej Karpinski, Deputy Director and Head of International Relations at the Polish Film Institute, has joined the European Film Promotion's (EFP) Board of Directors.
Karpinski was chosen by the EFP members to replace Pilar Torre. Torre had been a member of the board of directors since 2005 and her re-election was recently confirmed by the EFP members during the Cannes International Film Festival.
Éva Vezér, the EFP president, said: “With more and more members from Central and Eastern Europe joining the EFP, I very much appreciate another representative from these countries on the board."
Since it was created in 1997, the number of EFP members has increased from 10 to 30 export and promotion organisations from 31 countries. In recent years, it has mainly been film organisations from Eastern Europe who have been the joining, most recently the Macedonian Film Fund. EFP is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
