Following on from its successful moves into the Malaysia and Dominican Republic markets, UK-based Pinewood Studios is to open a representative office in Beijing. The move comes at a time when the Chinese film industry is rapidly expanding and Western studios are recognising the potential of China’s domestic audience from the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Louisiana has for the first time committed to a yearly filming incentive spending cap. The southern state will offer USD 180 million annually, which the production industry has said could impact its appeal to future shoots on the scale of Jurassic World and Terminator Genisys.
