Reno Tahoe Studios has opened in Reno, Nevada, in the south-west US, and could help boost location filming in the area. Set up by the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA), the facility offers six stages and office space spanning 300,000 square feet.
Location filming in British Columbia in western Canada could take a hit when the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) returns in April 2013. Pinewood Studios has started work on a new stage at its facility outside London. The GBP7.5 million build will comprise a 30,000-square-foot stage and 15,000 square feet of production office and workshop space. It’s scheduled to be ready for autumn 2013.
