California may have to fight to keep CBS chat programme The Late Late Show filming in Los Angeles when long-time host Craig Ferguson leaves later this year. British actor and performer James Corden has been named as Ferguson’s successor but a filming location hasn’t yet been confirmed.
Nevada has had its state filming incentive largely defunded less than a year after its launch. The money has been redirected to help fund a billion-dollar incentive package that will bring manufacturing giant Tesla to the state to build a Gigafactory battery plant in Reno.
Actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone is set to return to Louisiana to film the fifth movie in his Rambo action franchise. It will be the first entry to shoot in the state, although Stallone himself has worked there extensively on the Expendables franchise and other action films.
Louisiana remains confident that it will still have the edge when California boosts its filming incentives next year. The southern state has a 30% uncapped filming incentive and has recently doubled for California for features including Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Clive Owen and filmmaker Steven Soderbergh recreated New York as it looked at the turn of the 20th Century for period medical drama The Knick. Set in 1900, the ten-part miniseries tells the story of the medical staff at Brooklyn’s Knickerbocker Hospital, led by Owen’s Dr John Thackery.
New crime drama NCIS: New Orleans is filming on location this week on a Navy destroyer in Baton Rouge. The USS KIDD Veterans Museum is a decommissioned World War II-era destroyer permanently stationed in Baton Rouge as a memorial to Louisiana’s war veterans.
A proposed boost to California’s filming incentive programme has cleared the latest political hurdle on the way to becoming law. The increased tax credit was approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee with an annual fund of around USD 400 million.
