Thomson’s latest commercial, which aired over the 2016 Christmas holiday, was shot on location at the Aquila Rithymna Beach in Crete. Green Olive Films serviced the spot, working with creative agency, Y&R London (formerly RKCR/Y&R) and production company, Outsider.
ITV’s upcoming drama Desire, produced by Mammoth Screen (Poldark, And Then There Were None), will be shot on location in Sheffield. Split into five parts, the series will be penned by Jeremy Brock (Casualty).
ITV’s prequel to the Prime Suspect television series was partially filmed inside Ladywell Coroners Court and Mortuary, an abandoned building situated in southeast London. The location was transformed into a functioning mortuary during production.
ITV have announced that their London-based film studio, which has hosted television content for over 40 years, is set to close. The South Bank building, which also serves as ITV’s headquarters, will be redeveloped to expand its capabilities as an office while removing the studio space entirely.
The final season of ITV’s Broadchurch utilised sound stages at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol. On location shoots took place at Avonmouth’s Queen Street and Avonmouth Docks, while office buildings were used on Temple Street, Victoria Street and Whitchurch Lane.
The Current War, a biographical film about the business rivalry between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, was on location at the Pavilion Gardens in Brighton over the weekend. The iconic Royal Pavilion, which was erected in 1787, was used as a double for the 1893 Chicago World Fair.
Production has commenced on Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film, with scenes being shot in Lythe, North Yorkshire. The current untitled film marks Anderson’s first project since 2014’s Inherent Vice and the first time that the Director has worked with Daniel Day-Lewis since There Will Be Blood.
Conor McPherson’s upcoming drama for BBC Two, Paula will begin filming on location in Belfast next month. With credits as an Olivier and Tony-award winning Playwright and Director, Paula will be McPherson’s first foray into the television industry, telling the story of a promising one-night stand that soon develops into a destructive relationship.
