History Channel’s scripted drama Vikings will film a fourth season on location in Ireland this spring. The show is based at Ashford Studios outside Dublin and tells the story of the Nordic race.
Victorian crime series Ripper Street returned to shoot its third season on location in Dublin, using the Irish capital as a stand-in for London. Filming locations included Clancy Barracks, Trinity College, Dublin Castle and Kilmainham Gaol, and the new series will be launched on 14 November.
Ireland will consider increasing its current EUR 50 million (USD 63 million) cap on eligible expenditure that qualifies for the country’s filming incentive programme, from 2016. The current Section 481 filming incentive will convert to a tax credit from next year and the value will rise to 32%.

New gothic drama series Penny Dreadful filmed entirely in Dublin and County Wicklow, recreating Victorian London in the Irish capital. Created by John Logan, the drama features famous literary characters such as Victor Frankenstein and Dorian Gray in a dark psychosexual drama.
Chris Baugh, a veteran Location Manager, has been recognised for his work on Ben Affleck’s Argo at the California on Location Awards (COLAs). Baugh won in the Studio Feature Film category for his work doubling various California locations for Iran.
Thomas arrived in Florida in 1981 to work as a stage manager and lighting designer for The Alhambra Dinner Theatre. When the theatre was sold he made the leap to film as Location Manager on a CBS movie called The Tony Cimo Story. He’s been in the business ever since.
[slideshow id=271]Production company Logan has created spaces suggestive of Heaven and Hell on location in Prague for its new Jim Beam commercial. The spot focuses on the brand’s Devil’s Cut bourbon as a man is drawn down into a dark and industrial underworld to savour the drink.
