Upcoming superhero movie Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has filmed at Michigan State University (MSU). For the past few months the shoot has been based at Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Detroit.
Filmmaker David Ayer and his creative team recreated World War 2-era Germany in central England for the Brad Pitt tank movie Fury. The film follows the exploits of an American tank crew – manning a tank nicknamed ‘Fury’ – in the dying days of the war in 1945.
Visual effects company Double Negative and India-based entertainment services provider Prime Focus World have announced a merger agreement to create the industry’s biggest visual effects company. Double Negative’s recent work has included Man of Steel and Formula One drama Rush.
Authorities in Scotland are planning to boost film tourism in Edinburgh with the launch of a movie map of the iconic city. Filming locations used in 21 different movies over the years in the Scottish capital feature on the map, from Chariots of Fire through to the more recent Sunshine on Leith.

New Fox TV drama Gotham will explore the early career of James Gordon, the detective who eventually helps Batman with his fight against Gotham City’s super-villains. Filming locations for the series will need to offer tax incentives and film-friendly production infrastructure.
Chicago had a 20% year-on-year location filming increase in 2013, mainly due to a rise in television production. The Illinois city hosted six TV series at the same time and three studio features also filmed locally one after the other.
Cinespace Chicago Film Studios in Illinois has revealed details of its expansion plan. Having opened in 2011 the studio currently offers 18 sound stages but wants to build an additional 12, while also negotiating with local authorities to set up a back lot and a water tank.
