As part of the UK production hub and with its own unique locations on offer, Northern Ireland is now a highly desired country for filming. Acting as a film office for the region, Northern Ireland Screen is the first port of call for Location Managers so we sat down with the head of the organisation, Andrew Reid to get to grips with his role in the industry.

The highly prestigious Palme d’Or has been awarded to British Director Ken Loach (Kes, The Wind That Shakes the Barley) for his film I, Daniel Blake which was shot on location in London and Newcastle. The film depicts a middle-aged man who is forced to seek out government benefits after suffering an injury at work, meanwhile befriending a young mother who is on the brink of homelessness.

Location Manager and founder of the zlocationz Production Compmany, Martin Zillger has seen his fair  share of high profile projects. Operating mainly out of Germany and Austria, Martin has recently worked on Amazon’s original series The Man in the High Castle and feature film Race starring Jason Sudeikis.
