The UK and China have signed a new co-production treaty. Co-productions filming in the UK will have access to the British Film Institute (BFI) Film Fund and the UK's formal filming incentive programme, while co-productions in China will bypass the annual quota on international releases.
Paramount Pictures has partnered with China Film Group for a feature film based on the life of the 13th Century traveller Marco Polo. The news comes days after China Film Group’s announcement that it will be co-producing Warcraft and Seventh Son with Legendary Pictures.
The inaugural US China Film & TV Industry (UCFTI) Expo is set to take place 15-16 September 2014. Scheduled for the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Expo will set out to further develop working relationships between the US and Chinese production industries.

Cable channel TNT will film drama series The Librarians on location in Oregon in the Pacific Northwest. The miniseries will follow on from a successful TV movie franchise in the vein of Indiana Jones that follows an ancient organisation of librarians who recover historical artefacts.
The Governor of New York Andrew M Cuomo has called for long-running chat programme the Late Show to continue filming on location in New York City when current host David Letterman retires in 2015. Comedian and satirist Stephen Colbert is set to take over hosting duties.
Amazon Studios has ordered two new TV pilots. The Cosmopolitans will focus on a group of young people living in Paris and will film on location in the French capital. Hand of God is a vigilante drama that will shoot in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California.
