Film London has been given a funding boost to help take advantage of the UK’s new TV location filming tax credit and attract more high-end television. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has provided an extra GBP2 million to broaden Film London’s remit.
Green-coloured cycle lanes in downtown Los Angeles have been frustrating location filming professionals and now they’re about to be re-painted. More than a mile of neon green lanes was painted for cyclists in 2011 but the distinct design causes problems for the production industry.
Transformers 4 will film partly on location in China following a co-operation agreement signed between Paramount Pictures, China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises. China Film Studio has opened China Film Virtual Stage (CFVS) in the Huairou District of Beijing. The new facility is the first of its kind in China and comprises a green screen environment and virtual set filming services using Previzion systems provided by Lightcraft Technology of California.

Stink pitched superhero Captain Ice against a lava monster on the streets of Montevideo in Uruguay for chewing gum brand Vigorsol. The spot shows the daring superhero stocking up on supplies of the gum to help fuel his fresh breath and defeat the giant beastie.
The creator of new TV show Revolution has been monitoring East Coast filming from his office in Los Angeles, having yet been unable to visit the set. Eric Kripke came up with the series, which charts humanity’s struggles in a dystopian world years after all electrical power is lost.
