Crime miniseries The Killing Pool is set to film on location in Liverpool in north-west England. The drama was announced at the Dream Factory event as part of the International Festival for Business in Liverpool and adds to a list of the city’s production credits that include Foyle’s War.
Filmmaker Terence Davies is shooting period feature Sunset Song in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. The film is based on the 1932 novel by Lewis Grassic Gibbon and tells the story of a young woman coming of age in Scotland as social turmoil ripples from the First World War.
New World War II feature The Book Thief filmed on location at Studio Babelsberg near Berlin. Based on a novel by Markus Zusak, the film tells the story of a young girl who steals books to find solace from the horrors of Nazi Germany.
