Location filming will take place in London and Hong Kong for the BBC’s new two-part TV drama One Child. Co-produced by the BBC and Sundance TV, the production will tell the story of a Chinese-born woman adopted by Anglo-American parents as a result of China’s ‘One Child’ policy.
A new miniseries based on the Coen Brothers’ 1996 feature film Fargo braved the icy Canadian winter shooting on location in Calgary, Alberta. Although based in the same world as the Coens’ Oscar-winning crime drama, the miniseries tells a different story with new characters.
Filmmaker Joss Whedon has apologised to residents of the Korean capital Seoul as Marvel’s superhero sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron starts filming in the city. Whedon said that the film should help present Seoul in a way not necessarily seen before internationally.

An adaptation of Vera Brittain’s First World War memoir Testament Of Youth is filming on location in the UK in Yorkshire, Oxford and London. Heyday Films and BBC Films are co-producers on the adaptation of the 1933 memoir.
The European Commission has approved the UK government’s plan to boost its filming incentive programme, Chancellor George Osborne revealed in his 2014 Budget. From 1 April this year the tax credit will be easier to use and more accessible, while the cultural test will be modernised.
Lucasfilm and parent company Disney have confirmed that filming for Star Wars: Episode VII will start at Pinewood Studios in the UK in May this year. The UK was first confirmed as the main filming location in May 2013.
