Originally from Germany, Anna joined National Trust for Scotland (NTS) as a freelance videographer before becoming the organisation’s Filming Manager in 2012. Her first phone call was from the producers of the James Bond franchise seeking to bring Skyfall to Glen Etive in the Highlands.
Christian got his first taste of the film industry as an apprentice on a German TV channel in 2000. Additional TV and film experiences led him to study unit and location management at Cologne’s Koelner Filmhaus. He’s been a location manager and scout in Luxembourg for the past five years.
New TV drama Da Vinci’s Demons filmed its first season on location in and around Swansea in south Wales, doubling the region for 15th Century Italy. The show is a fictionalised account of the early life of Leonardo Da Vinci as he faces political and supernatural turmoil in Florence.
[slideshow id=349]I am on a lovely ‘Caribbean’ beach surrounded by clear water, tall palm trees, smooth white sand, huge boulders, wooden huts and a picturesque village. I would be tempted to take a swim or lie down to sunbathe were it not for the resounding call of ‘Action’.
Llucià Homs is Film Commissioner and Director at the Barcelona-Catalunya Film Commission (BCFC) in north-east Spain. He is also Director of Cultural Industries at Barcelona City Council’s Cultural Institute. The film commission helps organise shoots around Barcelona and Catalunya.
Alexandra Palace lies in north-east London and offers a great mix of location filming opportunities for film productions. The palace itself is steeped in 140 years of history, while nearly 200 acres of parkland include a deer enclosure and an old race course.
