Olivier Assayas’ film Personal Shopper, which is currently competing for the Palme d’Or at Cannes 2016 was filmed on location in Paris, Prague and Muscat. While being submitted as a French production, the film stars American Actress Kristen Stewart who was also cast in Assayas’ last film to be submitted to Cannes, Clouds of Sils Maria.

UK based Production Service Company MADAM alongside German Advertising Agency Panama Werbeagentur, descended upon a number of iconic London landmarks to film a new commercial for the German company, Sparkssenverband Hessen Thüringen. The locations in question included Trafalgar Square, the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building, Tower Bridge and Cleveland Row.

Under the administration of ScreenWest, Western Australia will be getting its own regional film fund in the form of AUD15 million (USD12 million). The Western Australian Regional Film Fund will be available from July 1st 2016 and will only be distributed to productions that incur a yet to be specified minimum spend.

Malta’s Tourism Minister, Zammit Lewis has announced a brand new film incentive programme for regional productions which will provide tax credits of up to 150% of an eligible spend. The incentive has been designed to stimulate the local film industry in the wake of immense interest from international productions such as Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender.

ARRI, in collaboration with the Producers Guild of America, Association des Producteurs de Cinéma and Film France, are hosting a drinks reception to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival 2016. The reception will take place May 14th from 5pm to 7pm at the International Village, with entrance admitted only to those who have received an invitation.
