Iceland could see an improved film incentive programme if a government proposal proves successful. The proposal in question seeks to increase the current 20% rebate to 25%, making the incentive far more competitive on the global filming market. To be put into law, the proposal will have to be approved at two separate debates but has already been successful in the first round.

New Star Trek TV series will be filmed in Toronto

CBS’ new Star Trek television series will now be filmed in Toronto despite initial reports that the production would be shot in Los Angeles. The yet-to-be-titled show will be the first of the Star Trek TV productions to film entirely outside of LA, as previous shows have taken up residency at Paramount Studios, Warner Bros Studios and Desilu Studios (now closed).

BBC drama To Walk Invisible will shoot on location in Yorkshire

The upcoming BBC drama series, To Walk Invisible: The Brontë Sisters will film on location in Yorkshire from the beginning of May. To Walk Invisible will depict the lives of the world renowned Brontë sisters, who between them have written some of the most influential pieces of English literature in history including Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre and Agnes Grey.
