Warner Bros Television is filming the pilot for a Constantine TV series in Atlanta, Georgia. The pilot is based on the DC Comics character John Constantine, an occult conman-turned-detective who in the comics originates from Liverpool, England.
Advocacy group the North Carolina Production Alliance (NCPA) has formed to promote the state’s filming incentive. A generous 25% filming tax credit is set to expire at the end of 2014 and the production industry is lobbying for a renewal to attract more shoots like Stephen King’s Under the Dome.
A series of major TV dramas – including the Stephen King miniseries Under the Dome – filmed in North Carolina in 2013 and helped deliver production spending of USD254 million. This could bolster calls to renew the state’s 25% filming incentive, which is set to expire at the end of 2014.
Georgia is planning ways to boost regional film tourism and capitalise on the success of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which shot locally. The state is promoting tours of the filming locations and the movie itself contributed to regional spending of nearly USD935 million in 2012/13.
Dystopian sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire filmed scenes on location in Hawaii, using the tropical setting for the story’s jungle and forest scenes. The film follows two young heroes competing in a life-or-death competition in a future North America ruled by a tyrannous wealthy class.

Hallmark will be filming on location in North Carolina for its Hallmark Hall of Fame anthology TV movie Christmas in Conway. The film will follow in the footsteps of Iron Man 3 and the first Hunger Games, and will be based at Wilmington production house Post 1200.
