New York has been re-imagined as the grittier metropolis of the late 1970s and early 1980s for the Batman TV drama prequel Gotham. The show has filmed on location in the city but makes efforts to drain modern New York of its colour to support the drama’s darker tone.
Rafting Alaska is set to become the latest reality series to film on location in The Last Frontier state. Produced by National Geographic Channel, the show will follow log rafters who travel the Yukon River in Alaska collecting and selling logs to local villages and townships in the wilderness.

Disney has chosen to film on location in Queensland, Australia, for its fantasy sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The movie will get a filming incentive payment of AUD 21 million and production will also take place at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.
Eight-part TV miniseries The Kettering Incident will film on location in the Australian state of Tasmania through to December. The drama will be Tasmania’s biggest ever production and the highest-profile local shoot since Willem Dafoe’s The Hunter in 2012.
Hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones has started 33 days of filming in Dubrovnik, in the Dalmatia region of Croatia’s Adriatic coast. The show, in production on its fifth season, is a repeat visitor to the historic city, which stands in for the drama’s iconic Kings Landing location.
Jewel heist miniseries The Last Panthers is set to film in three languages in four European cities, including London. The drama is based on the true story of the Pink Panthers, a notorious group of Balkan jewellery thieves credited with over 150 dramatic robberies over the past 20 years.
