New superhero movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has started filming on location in Detroit. Studio work will take place at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and location filming will encompass the city of Detroit, as well as locations in Illinois, Africa and the South Pacific.
Paramount Pictures has partnered with China Film Group for a feature film based on the life of the 13th Century traveller Marco Polo. The news comes days after China Film Group’s announcement that it will be co-producing Warcraft and Seventh Son with Legendary Pictures.

Pinewood Studios has made a deal to advise on the design of the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, a new filming facility being built in the Shandong region of eastern China. The consultancy service agreement is with the Dalian Wanda Group, which plans to open the new studio in 2016.
Filmmaker Lee Daniels, best known for the Oscar-winning Precious and more recently White House drama The Butler, will be filming on location in Chicago for his TV pilot Empire. The drama will be set against the backdrop of a large hip-hop business.
